On Sunday, October 17th, Team Star Kids laced up their sneakers for an eaerly morning run/walk across the iconic Newport Pell Bridg to help our Star Kids students. Thanks to their enthusiasm and fundraising efforts, $6,375 was rasied to support our children in need during this school year.

About the Star Kids Scholarship Program

Star Kids was founded in 2000 to provide educational opportunities to low-income, at-risk students who have a parent with a history of incarceration and/or substance abuse. Our students in grades K – 12 are provided tuition scholarships, and funding for essential supports such as books, tutoring, uniforms, transportation, after-school programs, summer camps and mentoring. Our goal is for each child to graduate from high school, be in a better position to pursue post-secondary education, and ultimately break the intergenerational cycle of drug use, poverty and incarceration. Our current high school graduation rate is 93% and 90% of our high school graduates pursue post-secondary education.
